Modernization of the LQE: public hearings on the bill will be held in November in Quebec

The dates of the public hearings on Bill 102 entitled the Act amending the Environment Quality Act to modernize the authorization regime environmental legislation and amending other legislative provisions, in particular to reform the governance of the Green Fund are now known.

The sessions will be held at the Salle Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine in the National Assembly from November 22 to 24, and November 28 and 29.

Bill 102: a reminder
On June 7, the Minister of Sustainable Development, Environment and the Fight Against Climate Change, Mr. David Heurtel, introduced Bill No. 102 entitled An Act to amend the Environment Quality Act. to modernize the environmental licensing regime and amending other legislation, in particular to reform the governance of the Green Fund.

This bill provides for a modernization of Quebec’s environmental authorization system. It also includes important amendments to the Environment Quality Act, including access to information, contaminated land and construction on land that has been used as a waste disposal site.
